Direct Combustion Technologies
Powering Sustainable Progress
DCT offers two technologies (Gas-Assisted Gravity Drainage and HydroFlame) for Environmental Sustainability of the Oil & Gas Industry
For a greener future
Capturing CO2 from the burning of fossil fuels and its sequestration from the atmosphere is a 21st century grand challenge posed by the National Academy of Engineering (NAE). DCT aims to take on this challenge by combining two technologies, HydroFlame (HF) and Gas-Assisted Gravity Drainage (GAGD).

PRODUCTS & SOLUTIONS
The HydroFlame Process
One of Direct Combustion Technologies’ primary innovations is the HydroFlame Process. This patented system employs a new concept of direct contact combustion and heat transfer based on enclosing a high-intensity flame in the vortex core of a rotating body of water.
Surface/Downhole Steam Generator
Co-injection of Flue Gases and Water
Hot Water Heater to Heat Frac Water
PRODUCTS & SOLUTIONS
Gas-Assisted Gravity Drainage Process
The other main Direct Combustion Technologies solution is the Gas-Assisted Gravity Drainage Process, or GAGD. This system has yielded oil recoveries in the range of 65 to 95% in laboratory experiments conducted at realistic reservoir conditions.
Higher incremental oil recovery yields
Significantly cheaper gas compression costs
Substantially lower gas requirements
High flow rates even at low drawdown
